Senior Life Sales Desk | Prudential Financial | Newark, NJ

The new Life Wholesaling Desk, part of Life Marketing and Distribution in Individual Life, will assist in the marketing and distribution of Prudential's Life products through a partnership with the external Life Wholesalers. Both the external and internal wholesalers primary mission is to drive life sales production of Prudential products through Agency Distribution.

The successful candidates for the Life Sales Desk Lead will initiate and follow up on sales calls, answers product questions, and prepare proposal materials. Each of the internal wholesaler will support two external Life wholesalers and a specified number of agencies.

The capability to identify new sales and marketing opportunities is critical in this role. The Sales Desk Lead will design advanced cases and participate in the entire case development process from proposal to underwriting. This includes proposing the best life product, explaining how various products work, running the illustrations, and partnering with the external wholesaler. Forming successful working relationships with the producers and the external is crucial for success in this position.

The day-to-day activities cover three critical areas:
  • Marketing Support - Assisting agents and external Life wholesalers to propose products to answer the needs of the client, prepare illustrations, and determine appropriate marketing materials.
  • Proactive Outreach - Follow through on initial leads and inquiries; prepare analysis in order to work with the producer and external wholesaler to create the best possible offer.
  • Relationship Building - Partner with the external Life wholesaler to identify products; participate in teleconferences to understand client's needs and to recommend processes and products to achieve client's goals.

Life Sales Desk Leads must deliver extraordinary support and complete any activities that may be needed while their partner, the external Life wholesaler, is meeting face to face with Agency Distribution producers. Coordination between these partners is crucial.

All materials, concepts and ideas that wholesalers deliver are compliance approved.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Life Insurance products
  • Ideally, 4 to 6 years of sales experience, preferably in the Life Insurance business
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the advanced markets
  • Ability to "sell" the product
  • Ability to 'market' the case
  • Industry designations such as CLU, CHFC, CFP are highly desirable
  • Excellent communication skills are essential
  • Ability to build and maintain strong business relationships
  • Solid understanding of compliance is expected
  • Life license required within 90 days of hire
  • NASD Series 6 or Series 7 registration required within 120 days of hire
